Vintage Nautical Chart NY Harbor Hudson & East River US Department of Commerce Environmental Science Services Administration Coast and Geodetic Survey #745 Aug 1973 This vintage map was used by a captain who sailed in the NY Harbor, Hudson River and East River. There are chart markings on the river in pencil showing it was an actively used map. I found this map in the abandoned shipyards in Hoboken, NJ in 1989. It has some water stains and a small tear at the top of the map. This is a very cool piece of NY/ NJ history. The map shows the train yards in Jersey City for the NJ Central RR and the Erie Lackawanna train yards in Weehawken and Hoboken and the Penn Central yards in Weekhawken. The World Financial Center and Battery Park City are just a "wharf under construction." You may be able to find this map in better condition, but not a map that's been used by a river boat captain!
