What a pretty item! This item shows a Renaissance couple who are obviously of high stature and are wearing their finest clothes. Maybe they are having their portrait painted? She sits and wears a deep Green jacket, a skirt in pale Pink and the front of the dress is pale Yellow with floral designs. She holds a book and her hair is done in an elaborate manner. The gentleman sits next to her and wears a deep Burgundy jacket, a pair of striped pants, socks to his knees and a White vest. There are many points on this piece that are trimmed in Gold. His hair is in a ponytail. Why are items stamped with " Made In Occupied Japan" so popular? Every item made in Japan for export had to have the stamp printed on them. This included pottery, porcelain, toys and other goods made during the American occupation of Japan after World War II, from 1947 to 1952. In good condition with no cracks, breaks or chips.
