Based on the research of the late Paul W. Ackerman 1913-2007. Paul Ackerman was fascinated with the thought of the hundreds of ships lost in Lake Michigan. So, in the late 1970's, he began to record not only all of the Lake Michigan sites, but known wrecks in the four other Great Lakes. After getting his certification as an open water scuba diver in 1977, at the age of 64 years old, he then started his extensive research. The result was six charts, one for each of the Great Lakes, plus another for the wreck-riddled south shore of Lake Michigan. The maps are about 35" X 23". The charts show you the location of shipwrecks by names and LORAN ( Long Range Navigation) numbers. They also have the dates they sank, the size or tonnage of ships, what they were made out of, and what type of ship they were. Don Johnson, President of Loves Park Scuba said the maps have been used by generations of divers since there first printing. Will ship a rolled map, no creases or folds USPS inserted into a shipping tube to the continental U. S. and Canada. The map pictured is for display purposes only. The map shipped is in new, excellent condition, never displayed.
