Up for auction is a beautfully restored violin. The label says Copie of Johannes Baptista Zanoli By Anton Bachman Fecit in Verona 1909 Made in Germany This was appraised by Jennifer Becker and Co. Who is the daughter of Carl Becker. The appraisal states it's value to be $6000. The description of the violin on the appraisal is: the back, in one piece, is of slab cut maple marked by a broad horizontal curl. The wood of the ribs and scroll is of half slab maple marked by a fine curl. The top, in two pieces, is of medium grained spruce. The varnish is of an orange brown color. The violin is in very good condition. Dimensions: Length, 14.25" Width, upper bout 6 11/16" Middle bout 4 7/16" Lower bout 8 1/8" " Stop" length. 195mm The piece has rosewood fittings and endpins.
